Pics from Shanghai

The amazing skyline of Shanghai's business district, Pudong, which is still on a growth movment. At night it takes on an even more surreal look.

But the city has other sides too...

And this is the top-end 5-star hotel we're staying at, the Peace Hotel. Actually it's not, and you don't really want to see the place we're at (although there have been much worse during this trip...). This magnificant hotel once belonged to an exteremly rich jewish Iraqi opium merchant by the name of Sasoon.

Enjoing ourselves in the best metro system in China (the one in Beijing look worse than London's on a very bad day).

A beautiful young maid in the Yuyuan (Yu Garden) in the heart of the old city of Shanghai.

  • My beard is so beautiful that one Chinese fruit-man thought us to be Iraqies. What will you say about that?! Me, the ASHKENAZI, Iraqi!! And if that's not enough, every time we pass by muslims on the streets (there's a big minority of Uigur chinese muslims, that are based in the north-west of the country but found in small groups all over the place) they ofer us Hashish...

When you come back I promiss to throw a smashing "hanuchat bait" (if we can unpack by then...)
