On the road

For starters, pics will be uploaded soon, that is when there'll be a normal computer for instance.
Second, this will be a good time to sum-up our week at the GuiZhou province. In a nutshell, rice. To be more elaborate, lots of rice. I mean tons of it, loads and loads of rice terraces as far as the horizon. GuiZhou is a very poor province, and it is felt the moment you enter it. You can see the daily struggle on the people faces. This fact turns them, at least most of the people we ran into, to a less welcoming, less friendly. To be more spesific, as michal put it, you can allmost see the $$$ signs light up in their eyes the moment they see us. It comes to the fact that they will always find something to try and sell you when you only ask them how to get to the nearest toilet.

During this week we decided to go underground and try to travel in the northen area of the south-eastern region of GuiZhou. We've been to places where it felt that the locals actually never saw white people before. We've seen towns less good-looking than Petach-tikva, and that is really saying a lot. Actually, we've been toplaces that really looked like Rafiach. In the bottom line, a true anthropological experience. Oh, and they really eat everything, we saw pleanty of roasted dogs and horses. The villagers here sometimes are so poor that they use nylon bags instead of windows, the kids don't always have shoes, people wash in the filthy river because they don't have any bathroom, etc.

We completed our visit here in the small and lovely Dong village named ZhaoXing. Some people will be very sorry to hear that the place have changed entirely since they last visited it 3 three years ago. Nowdays it's almost totally commercial, everything is in English, evrything is really overpriced, and in general it seems that the locals are less friendly than we expected them to be. Oh well.

It's been a hell of a week. A week both of us will take with us. We saw unbelievable things, that are really hard to put in words. The ride has been hard sometime, but eventually it has been worth it.

And besides that, this week we've been 5 years together. Congratulations!
